My Story

Since I was young, my approach to faith has been rooted in service. From altar serving in elementary school, to lectoring and leading retreats in high school, I wanted to do it all. At college, I continued that giving of myself but I also had classes, a job, hobbies, etc. and I found myself burnt out. On a retreat in prayer I realized my fundamental error in my spiritual life, I had neglected my personal relationship with God! I could recite my prayers, I had a loving community of faith around me, and I had the mindset of a servant, but I was missing the keystone. I had never made an intentional effort to join my heart to the Lord's, to align my will with His, and to ultimately trust in Him. It was only then that I could see the Lord not as a ruling master I am subject to, but as a Dad who loves unconditionally, unceasingly, and with His entire being. Only then could I open my heart to joyful service instead of a self-imposed sense of duty. Only then could I invite the Lord to be at the center of my life, and it changed everything.
