Where I Serve
After spending five years in Fairfax Country Public Schools as a teacher, I am now the Coordinator for the Youth Apostles Missionary Program. My role is to coach and train missionaries, giving them the tools to encounter young people, transform their lives to know Christ’s love for them, and evangelize to those in their own community in their parishes and high schools. I will be working directly to prepare those to go out into the field who will be bringing young people closer to Christ.
My Story
I grew up in Virginia Beach and was raised Catholic going to mass every Sunday. I was involved with my youth group and Young Life in high school but did not experience a genuine relationship with Jesus. It was not until I went to George Mason where I was able to encounter Jesus through adoration, that I began to yearn for his presence on a daily basis. Throughout college I was challenged to truly live out my faith and grow in a relationship with Christ. I taught for five years in the public-school setting and there I was able teach and minister to students on daily basis and continue to be Christ like to others. Now as the program coordinator of the Missionary Program, it is my job to train missionaries and apprentices to bring young people to Christ in the Catholic High Schools and in parishes.
To be a missionary is “to give until you have no more to offer for Christ”. You are abandoning your wants and needs to serve the Lord to bring others closer to Christ. This relationship will transform youth to know, love and serve God and provide a basic training for those wanting to serve the youth in parishes as a DYM or being a mentor in Catholic High Schools.
Your Impact
I believe it is a privilege and an honor to partner with others to fulfill the Great Commission. Through this program, I hope to inspire young people to truly know and love Jesus by giving young adults the tools to do relational ministry. I need your spiritual and financial support to complete the mission because it is a blessing to share this mission with the support of others. If you are interested in learning more about the mission and ways to join my mission support team, please contact me at tyler.fabian@youthapostles.org and we can schedule an appointment. God Bless.
